We are pleased to announce the allocations to the following organizations
from this year’s 40th Annual Cancer Auction held on April 9th
- Oncology Bridge Fund (WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital) – $10,000
The Oncology Bridge Fund can provide patients in need with gas cards, groceries, pharmacy vouchers for prescription medications, and other types of emergency assistance. The fund can be accessed through our Oncology Social Workers and Oncology Navigator who screen cancer patients to identify needs and barriers to care.
- Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital in Hershey – $10,000
Four Diamonds covers 100% of all medical expenses related to cancer care not covered by insurance for eligible Four Diamonds children.
- Breast Care Awareness of Cumberland Valley – $10,000
BCA-CV offers FREE mammograms for men and women who have little or no insurance and cannot afford to be screened. BCA-CV also offers many FREE programs to local breast cancer patients and their families to aid in supporting them through their entire breast cancer journey. They serve the following counties: Washington County, MD Frederick County, MD, Franklin County, PA, Fulton County, PA, Berkeley County, WV, Morgan County, WV, and Jefferson County, WV.
- American Cancer Society AstraZeneca Hope Lodge in Philadelphia – $10,000
- American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Baltimore – $20,000
The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program provides a free home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers. More than just a roof over their heads, it’s a nurturing community that helps patients access the care they need. Each Hope Lodge community offers a supportive, homelike environment where guests can share a meal, join in the evening’s activities, or unwind in their own private room. Patients staying at a Hope Lodge must be in active cancer treatment and permanently reside more than 40 miles away from their cancer treatment center.
The remainder of the proceeds will be held in reserve and allocated later this year and/or into 2023 to support planned future program needs of local cancer organizations.

Volunteers at each year’s kick-off meeting are often presented with a number of pamphlets and forms outlining programs sponsored by the ACS, and their continuing efforts in the fight against cancer. Many brochures are available to provide education, and teach self-examination. Contact your local ACS office for copies.
